THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION
May 2023 saw legislation from the UK Government where voters were required to show an accepted form of photo ID at polling stations in order to vote. The campaign, ‘Note to Self’, ran across TV, OOH, radio, digital audio, social, digital display, print and in-game. The creative featured people encountering giant sticky notes as a personal reminder. To ensure it had absolute authenticity I manipulated everyone by hand before being photographed.along with applying a multitude of real handwriting to all of the above the line and social collateral. The KPI for this campaign was for 60% public wareness. When surveyed, 94% of the public understood the new voter ID requirement. This was deemed a great success.
